1
Take out the radio and remove the dashboard panel, make sure you know the radio activation code, or else you wont be able to turn it back on. Then bring the dash panel to your work area
2
Cut two 4" lengths of stereo wire. Then separate and strip the ends.
3
Attach 2 of the solderless connectors one side of each of the wires. Then attach the disconnect terminals to the other ends
4
Cut 2 (two) 1 foot lengths of wire. Separate one of the wires into 2 seperate wires, these are going to be used as a ground wires.
5
Now Solder the ground and signal wires to each of the rca jacks.
6
Mark 2 spots 1/2" apart on the dash panel you removed from the car. Then drill 1/16" holes at each point. Then enlarge holes to fit the rca jacks, mine were 1/4". Then attach the rca jacks to the dashboard panel. Label these cables 'AUX IN'
7
Drill another hole to accomodate the switch, then run the wires from the rca jack through the hole.
8
Cut 2 additional 1' lengths of wire, and put the remaining disconnect terminals on the ends. Label one of them 'TO HU' and the other 'FROM CD'
9
Now solder the 2 wires from the rca jack to one side of the switch, and then solder the TO HU wires to the center, then the 'FROM CD' to the other side.
10
Attach the switch to the dash panel, and make sure all connections work.
11
Cut and strip the two wires that go from the cd player to the head unit. In my car they were the purple and white wires.
12
Attach one purple and one white to each of the wires you made in step 3
13
Attach the dash panel back in place.
14
Attach the disconnect terminals on the wire labeled 'TO HU' to the terminals going into the head unit, then attach the other set of disconnect terminals to the wire labeled 'FROM CD'
15
Take the ground wires from the rca jacks, and attach them to the screw covered by the rubber boot in the back of the head unit. Make sure the connection is secure, because if it falls out you will get a lot of noise in the signal
16
Reconnect the head unit and click it into place, and your done. If you want to see what I used to hold my iPod, you can look here.
